The second part of the Forough Farrokhzad's trilogy, The Mirror of the Soul, is an hour long tribute to the memory of Iranian poet and director Forough Farrokhzad, who died tragically in 1967 at only 32 years of age. This film focuses on Farrokhzad's life as a poet, and includes footage of her reading poems alongside interviews which reveal her personal aims and thoughts about artistic creativity. Friends and family members also provide intimate insights into her life, ranging from her school days to her depression in later life, while literary critics and poets talk about the impact her daring expressions of sexuality and emotion had on Iranian culture.
